On Page Optimisation

On Page Optimisation
This refers to the content of the website itself. This is made up of the visible text on the page and the code behind the scenes i.e. ensuring that it is search engine friendly.

SEO Set-Up / Initial Work
1.1
Research keywords

It is vital to research and target the correct search phrases/keywords. That is, phrases that people are actually using in sufficient numbers and phrases are not too competitive to start with.

1.2
Make the website search engine friendly

Analyse top 10 sites and copy what they’re doing. This normally involves some minor changes to the site especially the home page e.g. correct titles, keyword density, internal link structure etc. A detailed report will be sent.

1.3
Search engine submissions

The site will be submitted straight away to the relevant search engines to help get the site noticed.

1.4
Add tracking

This will allow us to measure traffic/visitor stats to see how effective the SEO is. For example, are more people coming to the site, what are the most popular search phrases, what are the most popular pages etc? Login details will be supplied to allow you to review this whenever you wish.

1.5
Submit the site to Google

This will force Google to visit the site within the space of a few days. This is particularly useful for new websites but it also allows established sites to see how Google views them.

1.6
Create and upload XML sitemap to Google

This instructs Google to visit (or ‘crawl’) every page of your site. This ensures, as much content from your site is included in their index. This also increases your chances of being found for more search phrases/keywords e.g. ‘long-tail keywords.’

1.7
Local Business listings

The site will be registered with some effective local directories e.g. Google Local Business. This increases exposure of the site and should increase traffic and links to the site.

1.8
Initial Link building

Again, this is done to increase traffic and links to the site. Only effective sites/directories will be used e.g. DMOZ, social media sites etc.

1.9
Competitive Analysis

A top-ranking site will be analysed in more detail to see what they are doing. In particular, we will look at their back links and target as many of them as possible.
